Commitment to the Breed: Our Show Journey

At Shadey Lane Corgis, showing is an important part of our commitment to preserving and improving the Cardigan Welsh Corgi. While we have not yet entered the AKC conformation ring, we have actively shown in IABCA, where our dogs have received valuable evaluations on structure, movement, and overall breed type.
In 2024, Hank earned both his International and National Puppy titles at the IABCA shows held at Purina Farms in Gray Summit, Missouri—an achievement we are incredibly proud of and one that helped solidify the direction of our show program. These experiences provided meaningful feedback from multiple judges and laid a strong foundation for our future in the conformation ring.
Looking ahead, we are excited to officially begin our AKC showing career in 2026, with our first AKC show scheduled for January 25th at Purina Farms in Gray Summit. We plan to actively campaign both current dogs and future prospects as we gain experience in the AKC ring, work toward earning titles, and continue developing high-quality Cardigans that meet the breed standard. Showing allows us to seek objective evaluation and ensures we are always breeding with the future of the breed in mind.
